It used to be easy for me to lose weight. Until… it wasn’t. My formula of run more eat less just wasn’t enough to keep the ever-creeping pounds off. And I wasn’t about to restrict myself to an 800-1,000 calorie diet that consisted mostly of liquids. I mean picnics, parties and Pina coladas are a part of life!
Now I’ll admit, I am trying to lose the same 20 pounds that have always crept back onto my hips, just this time it’s ten years later. And it’s DEFINITELY not the same. As many women have learned, what you did you in your 20’s and 30’s to lose weight doesn’t always work in later decades.
Some of my friends have turned to the new Hollywood Weight Loss trend Wegovy® which is an injectable (as in giving yourself a shot) and requires a prescription. It’s intended for adults with a BMI over 27 who also have weight-related medical problems.
Wegovy® promises to help them lose weight and keep it off. And for those I know who use it, it works. In fact it works so well it’s often hard for pharmacies to keep it in stock.
Not one for poking myself daily with a needle (I don’t even have my ears pierced!) I chose instead to wish for a magic pill to help take the extra pounds off. Well… it’s possible that wish has been granted.
HIPHENOLIC: A NATURAL APPROACH TO WEIGHT LOSS
HiPhenolic is a new weigh loss supplement that promises do what Wegovy® does, only in pill form. So of course, I wanted to check it out.
HiPhenolic is manufactured by Orthomolecular, known for their vitamins and supplements. They developed HiPhenolic to target key hormones involved in hunger and weight regulation using all natural ingredients like Hibiscus, Lemon Verbena Extract, Green Coffee Bean and Magnesium Citrate.

PHARMACIST WEIGHS IN ON THE WEIGHT LOSS SUPPLEMENT
I talked with Jonathon Grice Pharmacist and owner of Hometown Pharmacy, “I’m excited about this one, because they’ve got some study data that shows how it interacts with the same hormones.” Four studies show that HiPhenolic resulted in weight loss for all participants. That’s what makes Grice excited about this new weight loss option, “HiPhenolic’s interaction with hunger hormones is a significant advantage. By addressing the body’s signaling mechanisms it helps control appetite and promote weight loss. And because it’s an over-the-counter supplement it’s particularly appealing to individuals who prefer natural products over prescription medications.” Backed by scientific research HiPhenolic shows promising potential for a natural approach to weight loss.
It is suggested that you follow a balanced diet and include exercise to see maximum results. And of course, you should always talk to you doctor before taking any supplement.
THE FUTURE OF WEIGHT LOSS SUPPLEMENTS AND PRESCRIPTIONS

My conversation with Jon turned to the future of weight loss products. He believes our understanding of weight management is evolving by making the connection between the body’s hunger cues and the metabolic process. His hope is that HiPhenolic represents a step towards a future where supplements and prescriptions can work together to achieve successful weight loss.
AVAILABILITY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
For now HiPhenolic may be as hard to find as a Wegovy® prescription. It only came on the market a few months ago and it’s not widely available at large retail chains. You’ll have better luck locating it at independent pharmacies like Hometown Pharmacy and ones that carry Orthomolecular products. But for $45 a month it might be worth the time to hunt down and try. Just a friendly reminder though, don’t forget to check with your doctor before taking it.
CONCLUSION
I’ve decided to give it a try! I’ll “weigh in” on my experience in a future blog. Hope you’ll stop back in to see the results.
